Memorandum of Understanding

Students, Young Scientists & Specialists in research commercialisation



Purpose of the programme is to ensure active involvement of students of universities and colleges of vocational education as well as young scientists and specialists in technological projects and/or in the research projects with commercialisation potential (hereinafter, “Host Project”) being currently implemented either in Georgian or foreign universities and/or research institutes.

Expected outcomes

Students, young scientists and specialists were given opportunity to learn more on specificities of applied research, technology development/transfer and cooperation with companies. Gained knowledge and skills will be helpful for the grantees early career development, especially in the context of research commercialisation.

Format of the programme

The programme is implemented in the frame of Targeted Granting Scheme, through the calls for project proposals. Proposals, submitted to the various calls under this programme either by the individual applicant or the group, need to comply with the following basic requirements: duration up to 18 months; maximum of requested funds 20 000 GEL.

Following expenses are eligible for granting:

-          Remuneration of students, young scientists and specialists;

-          Procurement of necessary small equipment (e.g. laptops) for the students, young scientists and specialists;

-          Internal and international travels;

-          Patenting and/or publication costs.

In exceptional cases the project budget may be used: a) for procurement of consumables for the Host Project and b) for remuneration of the young scientists’, specialists’ and students’ supervisors/consultants
